why do headlights dim during acceleration?
Have you ever noticed that when you accelerate in your car, the headlights seem to dim momentarily? This is due to the way the electrical system works in vehicles. When you hit the gas, it requires more power from the engine and therefore draws more current from the battery. This increased demand on the alternator causes a momentary drop in voltage, resulting in a decrease in brightness of the headlights. However, as soon as the alternator kicks into high gear to recharge the battery, the headlights return to full brightness. While this phenomenon might seem concerning at first glance, it's actually a completely normal occurrence and nothing to worry about!
